Its been well over 3 years since I took the decision to give up my job and work on making Baby Moments a business full time, time has absolutely flown!
In my first year the plan was to blog often, but as things got busier and busier I soon fell out of that routine. So it may be a while until the next one but here's an update on what's happening at Baby Moments UK!
So last year (2015) I took the steps to trademarking the name: Baby Moments UK & my new logo. This is because I have some exciting plans to franchise the business eventually, allowing others to enjoy the success I have in running this lovely baby based business! This is a huge step and I'm 3/4 of the way there with the plans but unfortunately I haven't got all the time in the world so its a slow process (and I don't want to rush it, its needs to be perfect). So with these plans I also turned the business from me just being self employed into a registered Limited Company (making me a director, so posh!). When things are ready I will advertise my franchise opportunity, but for the moment I ask people to register there interest by email, and ill get in touch when everything is ready info@babymoments.org.uk.
Anyway so that's that said, now the other reason I'm so busy: Me and my boyfriend Josh brought a house, an old tired house that needed a lot of love. So the last 8 months we have been doing it up and making it into our perfect first home complete with a studio in the garden for me to work from. We are not living in it yet but hopefully our 7 year wait to live together will be over in a month or 2!
The third reason I'm so busy: I took on a second job in a shop working evenings! This was to cover all house costs for a little while until we were done (houses are so expensive!), but I really love it there so now I spend 20 hours a week over 3 days working until 10pm! Somehow I make it work and for the moment I wouldn't change it. People think I'm mad for working the 2 jobs, but I do get a lot of pleasure from feeling like I'm working as hard as I can. Don't get me wrong I am tired all the time and some days I don't want to work but I believe while your young and have the energy you should make the most out of it for your future. Work hard now and relax later (hopefully!).
The forth reason I'm so busy: THINGS HAVE GONE CASTING CRAZY! The week before last I did 13 appointments in 1 week, and each week before that have been at least 10 appointments a week since February. I have been working my socks off to cater for everyone and to find time to make all these castings and reply to enquiries, and somehow I have :). It has been the busiest year for Baby Moments by far with many new customers and some previous now with 2nd & 3rd children. Thanks to everyone for helping me become this busy because a huge amount of business is through word of mouth, all down to you! I feel like this year I have fully become established in what I make and do.
I hope this hasn't been too me me me! Just wanted to let you all now what's happening here & some of the exciting plans I have for the future. Perhaps I'll update you in a year when I get another minute spare to blog!
